Environmental assessment – Victory Road park 'n' ride site option

To identify an appropriate location for the Bribie Island park 'n' ride, TransLink undertook numerous technical investigations.

These investigations assessed the types of flora and fauna in the area as well as cultural heritage.

Assessment of the proposed location on Victory Road found:
  • the site was heavily degraded as a result of previous clearing activities and subsequent dumping
  • the majority of the vegetation on site was immature regrowth and weeds
  • the site was not home to protected animal life
  • the site was not flagged as having cultural heritage values for indigenous land owners.

The park 'n' ride at Victory Road will provide an opportunity to improve the visual amenity of the area through landscaping and design, and is not expected to have a significant impact on the environment during operation.
