The Queensland Government and Gold Coast City Council are committed to delivering a high capacity public transport system linking the existing heavy rail network and the densely populated coastal strip of the Gold Coast. The Gold Coast Rapid Transit project seeks to engage private sector parties with experience in finance, delivery or operation of light rail transit systems. The registration of interest process is part of a formal market sounding process undertaken as part of the Queensland Government's Value for Money (VfM) Framework. The registration of interest process does not form part of any procurement process for this project. The project is not obliged to consider any information provided by a potential supplier as being an offer or being bound by any commercial arrangement with that supplier. Failure to register does not preclude that supplier from involvement in the future delivery of the system. The project has completed a draft Concept Design and Impact Management plan (CDIMP) and a preliminary Business Case in accordance with the Queensland Government's VfM Framework. The final Business Case is due in early 2009 and will enable Government to decide how to deliver the project having regard for value for money outcomes and preferred arrangements for partnering with the private sector for design, construction, financing, commissioning and operation of the system.
Technical consultants, project management advisors, public utility authorities, plant, material and labour suppliers are not required to register their interest at this time. To register your interest, complete the industry registration form. |
