> About the busways
The wheels are in motion
Busways are dedicated roadway that separate buses from general traffic. Like our popular and successful train network, busways offer commuters a congestion-free run on fast, frequent and reliable services.
History
A network of five busway corridors has been conceived, linking with the rail network to improve public transport connectivity across the city.
Benefits
Busways feature purpose built busway stations including 24-hour security, 'real-time' electronic timetable information, and offer fast, direct and continuous services between outer suburbs and the heart of the city.
Design
Careful consideration is given to ensure busway station designs blend well with the natural environment.
