The TransLink Transit Authority is dedicated to making public transport easy to catch throughout South East Queensland, through bus stop infrastructure upgrades and new service improvements.

Dedicated bus stops are replacing hail n' ride for more reliable timetabling with up-to-date information at all new stops. There is a new consistent look and feel for bus stops and signage, with improved safety and access for people with mobility concerns.

The TransLink Transit Authority uses three main types of bus stop:

Quick tips for bus travel

  • arrive at your stop 5 minutes early before the scheduled departure time
  • have the correct fare ready
  • if you have a concession card, have it ready to show the driver
  • make sure you are easy for the driver to see when waiting for the bus
  • raise your hand to hail the bus to stop
  • sit down if there is a seat, or hold on tight if you are standing
  • to alight the bus, you need to ring the bell as the bus approaches your stop
  • when you get off, wait for the bus to move away before you cross the road
